Numerous family physician and pediatric group practices refer to me on a regular basis, while others are referred by school staff or word of mouth. I have earned this reputation through my long-term professional relationships with physicians, psychiatrists, nurses, teachers, school counselors and fellow therapists. I have also met many community leaders and professionals when presenting regionally on ADHD, Bipolar, Marriage and Family Therapy, Effective Parenting, Depression, Anxiety and Stress, and Divorce Adjustment for Adults and Children. Some of these specialties are difficult to find in smaller-size city, especially if the client prefers a male therapist specifically. Each of these specialties represents many years of professional training and experience, including graduate coursework, supervised clinical experience, and continual training at professional conferences. Licensed Psychologists complete 4 years of combined academic classes and supervised clinical experience, a 5th year in a supervised internship, then additional post-doctoral supervision during their early career practice.
Professionally, I am dedicated to continuing education though conferences, workshops and consultation with trusted colleagues. In this way you can take advantage of the most recent information and research available. I additionally draw on a sense of humor and my experiences as a husband and parent in understanding normal family challenges, and in keeping goals realistic. Finally, you should know that I keep my caseload small so I can remain available to you, and so that I can give careful attention to everyone I see.
